Oprah Winfrey and James Cameron Are Hollywood's Highest-Earning of 2010

Oprah Winfrey and pal Tyler Perry have stormed to the top of Forbes magazine's end-of-year rich list. Oprah takes the top spot on the newly-released Hollywood's 20 Highest-Earning of 2010 with an estimated $315 million windfall, while filmmaker Perry comes in third with $125 million.

The success of "Avatar" puts pioneering director James Cameron in second place with an estimated $210 million 2010 haul,

while his peers Steven Spielberg, Jerry Bruckheimer, George Lucas and Michael Bay also make the top 10.

The highest musician on the list is Beyonce Knowles, who lands ahead of Lady GaGa and Britney Spears on the coveted list at number nine with an $87 million 2010 windfall. Spears came in at 13, while GaGa closely followed at 14.

Also making the top 20 are Madonna, Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.

 Oprah Winfrey was once offered the chance to become a U.S. ambassador by former Secretary of State Colin Powell. The politician and statesman were dining with the talk show queen at a party in Washington, D.C. five years ago when he turned to Winfrey and asked her to consider a high office within the George W. Bush administration.

She tells Parade magazine, "He said that when we were in the ambassadors room and I said, 'Gee... an ambassador! I think that would be really great.' He goes, 'Name your country, baby, name your country'." Winfrey reveals the offer has never been made since.

Instead, the TV mogul is preparing to launch her own network, OWN, which is to air its first program in January 2011.

Oprah Wanted Bono to Make Good TV for OWN

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey recently invited U2 rocker Bono to join the ranks of celebrity presenters on her new network - because she was convinced his philanthropy work would make for good TV.

The TV titan will launch OWN next year and she's recruited a slew of stars to host their own talk shows, including Jenny McCarthy, Rosie O'Donnell and Ryan O'Neal and Tatum O'Neal, as well as Hollywood actors including Julia Roberts, Forest Whitaker and Goldie Hawn to develop their own documentaries for the network.

And Winfrey reveals she even approached Bono with the idea of launching his own small screen career - although he respectfully declined. She tells the New York Times, "(I asked Bono), 'Would you like a TV show?' I look at everything now through the prism of, 'This could make a very good TV show!'"
