Katy Perry Back to No. 1 on U.K. Singles Chart

Katy Perry has followed up her double win at the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night, January 5 by returning to the top of the U.S. pop charts. The star's "Firework" claims a fourth non-consecutive week at number one after trading places with Bruno Mars' "Grenade".

Perry picked up Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Online Sensation honors at the People's Choice Awards. The rest of the Billboard Hot 100 top five is unchanged from last week with Ke$ha's "We R Who We R", Rihanna's "What's My Name" and "Raise Your Glass" by Pink all holding firm at three, four and five, respectively.

Big Time Rush score the chart's highest debut honor by bowing at 79 with "Big Night".

Eminem and Katy Perry Score 2010's U.S. Best-Selling Album and Song

Beside winning four coveted prizesat People's Choice Awards,Eminem is also celebrating another accolade as he scores 2010's U.S. best-selling album with his latest set "Recovery". The Hip-Hop album pulled in around 3.42 million copies since making its way out in June last year.

This is the second time he reached the landmark, making him the first act to top year-end sale number in more than one year.

He nabbed top-selling album when "The Eminem Show" moved 7.61 million at the end of 2002.

Additionally, the Slim Shady scores the biggest-selling album of a year since 2007. Josh Groban's "Noel" sold 3.70 million that year, Taylor Swift's "Fearless" got 3.22 million in 2009, and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" reigned with 2.87 million in 2008.

Sitting behind him at the 2010 album year-end list are Lady Antebellumand Swift. The country music acts take the second and third spots respectively. Antebellum sold 3.09 million copies with their "Need You Now", and Swift scanned 2.96 million units with her "Speak Now".

Justin Bieber follows them at the fourth place, successfully bringing the sale number of his "My World 2.0" to a total of 2.32 million copies. Having "I Dreamed a Dream" as the second best-selling album last year, nowSusan Boyle has to drop to No. 5 with "The Gift" which sold more than 1.85 million.

In the best-selling song list, Katy Perry appears on top. Her former Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single "California Gurls" moved 4.40 million downloads. Train's "Hey, Soul Sister" sits at No. 2 with 4.31 million, Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" claims the next spot with 4.25 million,Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" is at No. 4 with 4.08 million, and B.o.B's "Airplanes" rounds up the Top 5 with 4.00 million.

Several slots lower, Perry places her single "Teenage Dream" at No. 12 (3.01 million) and "Firework" at No. 28 (2.33 million). On top of that, the album where those three smash hits appear finishes at the 14th place in the 2010 biggest-selling overall album with 997,000 copies.

Katy Perry has clinched the Christmas number one single in America by scoring a third week at the top of the charts with "Firework". The newlywed has kept a surging Bruno Mars from the top of the Billboard charts - his "Grenade" moves up to two on the new countdown.

Mars and Rihanna both score top 10 doubles - Mars' "Just the Way You Are" moves up a spot to six, while Rihanna's "What's My Name?"

drops to three and "Only Girl (In the World)" falls a spot to seven. Pink's "Raise Your Glass" and Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" round out the new top five.

In the albums rundown meanwhile, Taylor Swift leads the Top 10 list with "Speak Now". She is followed by former champ Susan Boyle's "The Gift" and new entry Michael Jackson's self-titled posthumous album at No. 2 and 3 respectively.

Katy Perry and her reformed drug addict husband Russell Brand want to use their fame and fortune for good - they plan to set up a foundation to help the poor and needy. Brand turned his life around from being a heroin addict to become a top comic in the U.K. before launching a movie career in the U.S.

His new pop star wife Perry continues to be amazed by his story and reveals they both want to help others struggling in life by creating their own charity. She tells Britain's Grazia magazine, "He's so intelligent. So full of wonderful plans. If you really want to know what made me fall in love with him was how amazing he was with people, particularly with children."

"Russell has changed his life and wants to help other people change theirs. For all his naughtiness on the surface, underneath he's truly good. My parents adore him. People laugh when I say Russell is a man of God but I'm just waiting for them to see what he does. We have this plan to set up a foundation to help people, feed them, clothe them, give shelter. We don't want to use our fame just to sit on our money on a mountain, we want to do something with it."

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have decided against giving each other gifts this Christmas - because they want to focus on creating "an experience" for their first festive season as husband and wife. The "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker married the comic in India in October after a year-long romance, but they're not marking their first holiday together as Mr. and Mrs. with presents.

Perry explains, "Honestly, we're not doing presents this year because we're going to do an experience instead. My whole life has been an experience, especially in these past few years and this year in particular."

And the singer reveals she's planning to donate some of her clothes to charity to help others over the holiday season. She tells JustJared.com, "I just feel like I have so much and sometimes I feel like I have too much. I seriously have all these wonderful things and I need to give them away because some of them don't fit me!"

Z100's Jingle Ball 2010: Katy Perry, B.o.B, Bruno Mars' Performances

A week after the taping, Z100's Jingle Ball taking place at Madison Square Garden has finally aired on Fuse on Thursday night, December 16. It featured a bunch of A-list musical guests like Katy Perry, B.o.B, Bruno Mars, Taio Cruz and many more.

Perry came out of a giant wrapped present at the beginning of her set, surprising concertgoers with her toy soldier costume.
She mixed her setlist with old materials like "I Kissed a Girl" and new songs like "Firework". Instead of bringing her Nutcrackers, the Jingle Ball vet got some ballerinas in gold tutus.

"I remember when I came on, and I was really scared," Perry recalled. "Obviously now I'm not scared anymore -- if you didn't' notice this outfit -- and I sang this song, and I'm going to do a remix of it now. Thank you Z100 for breaking that song and changing my life."

While it was not Perry's first Jingle Ball performance, it marked B.o.B and Mars' debut as a performer at the gig. B.o.B sang solo in "Don't Let Me Fall", and invited Mars in "Nothin' on You" before joining forces later with Paramore's Hayley Williams in "Airplanes". Mars also made a duet with Travis McCoy in "Billionaire".

The other musical acts included young stars Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. While Bieber rocked the stage with guests like Jaden Smith and Sean Kingston, Gomez brought down the house with her band The Scene. Celebrity guests that night included Kim Kardashian.

Katy Perry's 'Firework' Continues Reign at Hot 100

Katy Perry is continuing to light up the U.S. pop chart - her single "Firework" is at number one for a second consecutive week. The singer keeps her pal Rihanna from climbing back to the top spot with her Drake collaboration "What's My Name?" at two, while the R&B beauty lands another hit at six with "Only Girl (In the World)".

Bruno Mars moves up to third place with "Grenade", while Pink's "Raise Your Glass" takes fourth and Ke$ha rounds out the Billboard Hot 100 top five with "We R Who We R". The highest new entry came from incarcerated rapper T.I. - his song "That's All She Wrote" debuts at 18.

T.I.'s "No Mercy" is new at four and Daft Punk's "Tron Legacy" soundtrack is another debut at 10.
